Starter Guide

Ping32’s document encryption technology provides an efficient and reliable means of data protection, helping enterprises prevent data leakage and safeguard core business information.

Overview

Before using the document encryption feature, ensure that the client has been properly installed and is online in the console’s terminal list. Once verified, encryption authorization must be added, followed by a series of configuration and operational steps.

Configuration and Setup

To enable document encryption, perform the following configuration steps:

Add Encryption Authorization:

There are two ways to add encryption authorization for a terminal:

  • Option 1: In the terminal list, locate the terminal to be authorized and enable encryption.
  • Option 2: In the advanced terminal list, select one or more terminals and perform batch encryption authorization.

Confirm Authorization Status:

After encryption authorization is successfully added, an encryption lock icon will appear next to the authorized terminal in the console. Additionally, an encryption client icon will be visible in the system tray (bottom right corner of the taskbar) on the client computer, indicating that encryption permissions have been granted.

Run the Encryption Service:

To ensure proper installation and operation of the encryption service on the client, restart the computer twice after configuration. Once the system restarts successfully, the encryption client icon should appear in the taskbar tray, confirming that the encryption service is installed and running correctly.

Encryption Status Verification

After setup, you can verify whether the encryption service is running properly using one of the following methods:

Using the Command Prompt (CMD)

  1. Open the Command Prompt window.

  2. Enter the following command: sc query WinNtDes
  3. If the service status shows RUNNING, the encryption service is functioning normally.

Using the Encryption Client Icon

  1. Right-click the encryption client tray icon in the bottom-right corner of the desktop.

  2. Select Terminal Information from the context menu.

  3. In the terminal information window, check the status of the WinNtDes service. If the status is Running, the encryption service is operating correctly.

Notes

Encryption authorization and the successful operation of the encryption service are critical prerequisites for enabling the document encryption feature.
