This article provides server-side and endpoint agent-side checking methods to confirm whether the Ping32 endpoint agent has been successfully installed, whether the service is running normally, and whether it has established a connection with the server and is online.

Server side confirmation method (recommended to check first)

After the endpoint agent is installed normally and successfully connects to the server, the most intuitive performance is:

  • A new online endpoint appears in the Endpoint List of the server Management Console (endpoint name, IP, online status and other information are visible).
Recommendation: If the new endpoint does not appear in the endpoint list, first check the network connectivity (IP reachable, port accessible) and whether the connection parameters of the endpoint agent installer are correct.

Endpoint Agent side confirmation method

Note: After the first installation is completed, you need to restart the endpoint and then perform the following checks. Failure to restart may result in services or configurations not fully taking effect, affecting the judgment results.
1. Confirm through service status (whether installed and running)
  1. Press Win + R to open "Run", enter cmd, and press Enter to start the command prompt (it is recommended to run with administrator rights)
  2. Execute command: sc query nsecrts
  3. If the service status is displayed as RUNNING, it means that the endpoint agent's core service is running normally, which can be used to determine that the endpoint agent has been installed and is in working condition.
2. Confirm through the endpoint agent setting interface (whether online)
  1. Press Win + R to open "Run", enter cmd, and press Enter to start the command prompt (it is recommended to run with administrator rights)
  2. Execute command: nsec -setting
  3. Enter the password in the pop-up window:
  4. After entering the setting interface, you can check:
    • Is the endpoint name correct->
    • Click System to check whether the current endpoint status is displayed as Online
3. Check connection parameters (whether connected to the correct server)
  • Please check that the connection parameters point to the correct server address (usually the server IP or planned domain name).
  • If the connection parameter is not the target server address, possible reasons include:
    • The server address is incorrectly filled in when the endpoint agent installer is generated.
    • Misuse of installation packages from other environments (mixed testing/production)

Handling suggestions:

  • Regenerate the correct endpoint agent installer and deliver it for installation, or correct the connection parameters to the target server address according to specifications.
