For scenarios where it is necessary to continuously retain evidence of endpoint screen operations, it is more suitable for enterprise management to save

screen recording

to

server

and set the retention period uniformly. This not only makes it easier for administrators to centrally review the recordings, but also controls the retention period in accordance with the internal audit system to avoid excessive storage pressure caused by unlimited accumulation of recordings over a long period of time.

Setting the retention days to the nearest

30

days is usually suitable for scenarios where "monthly review", "event lookback window is one month" or "regular audit cycle needs to be covered". If the enterprise's compliance requirements or incident tracing cycle are longer, appropriate adjustments can be made after evaluating the storage capacity, but it is recommended to always be based on business needs and server resources.

Configuration steps

1. Click

Data Security

→

Policy

on the console to enter the data security policy settings page.

2. Click

  • Record saving location selection: Server
  • Click OK to save the configuration

4. After confirming that the policy application endpoint is correct, click

to deliver the screen recording policy to the endpoint and store the recording on the server for nearly 30 days.

Validation verification and usage suggestions

After the policy takes effect, it is recommended to perform a typical business operation on the test endpoint, then go to

Data Security

→

→

Screen Recording

to check whether the corresponding recording has been generated, and confirm that the recording file can continue to be accessed after the endpoint is offline. If the management requirements are strict, you should also check again when the 30-day retention period approaches to see if the historical data has been cleaned up as expected.

  • Save Location It is recommended to select Server uniformly to improve data controllability and centralized management capabilities.
  • Record retention days should not be set too long blindly. It should be comprehensively evaluated based on the number of endpoints, recording frequency and server capacity.
  • Pilot deployment can be carried out for key positions first, and then the recording parameters can be optimized based on the amount of data generated and frequency of review.
