The act of taking screenshots usually has a high level of sensitivity. When employees copy information, intercept business system pages, and save confidential interface content, they often use the system's own or third-party tools to take screenshots. By auditing endpoint screenshot behavior through Ping32, administrators can simultaneously know "whether a screenshot occurred" and "what content was captured", thereby providing a more complete evidence chain for behavior tracing and violation evidence collection.

#### **Enable screenshot control strategy**

If the company currently focuses on trace audits, it is recommended to turn on

**Screenshot Recording**

first; if it is clear that certain positions or applications are not allowed to be screenshotted, you can further superimpose

**Prohibit Screenshots**

or

**Prohibit Specified Processes from Screenshots**

. Auditing first and then tightening is a safer way to implement it.

1\. Enter the

**Data Security**

module in the Ping32 Management Console.

2\. Click

**Policy**

and select the endpoint that needs to be controlled.

3\. Click

**Screen Security**

to enable the

**Screenshot Control**

function.

#### **Configuration parameter settings (required)**

After turning on screenshot control, if a blue exclamation mark appears in front of the screen, it means that the parameter configuration has not been completed. Please click

**Parameter Settings**

and check the following functions as needed:

- **Screenshot record**: When a screenshot operation occurs on the endpoint computer, the desktop screen will be automatically captured and saved to the server.
- **Smart Analysis**: Perform intelligent analysis on screenshot records to help identify abnormal or suspicious screenshot behavior.
- **No screenshots**: The endpoint is prohibited from taking screenshots; when employees take screenshots, the desktop will appear completely black.
- **Prohibit specified processes from taking screenshots**: It only takes effect for the specified process that has been added; when an employee takes a screenshot containing the process, the screenshot will be completely black.
- **Watermark settings**: Add watermark when taking screenshot.

> Note Currently, the screenshot watermark only supports the built-in screenshot tool of the client software.

For scenarios where core business system interfaces need to be protected, it is recommended to prioritize whether to “comprehensive ban” or “per-process restriction”. If only certain system pages are not allowed to be screenshotted, using

**Disable screenshots of specified processes**

is often easier to implement than the full

**Disable screenshots**

, and can also reduce the impact on ordinary office operations.

#### **View screenshot behavior records**

1\. Click

**Data Security**

in the Ping32 Management Console.

2\. Click

**Screen Record**

.

3\. Click

**Screenshot Audit**

to view the audit records of screenshot operations of employee endpoints.

#### **Effect verification and usage suggestions**

It is recommended that the administrator select a test endpoint after the policy is issued, take a normal screenshot and a controlled application screenshot respectively, and then return to

**Screenshot Audit**

to see whether it can be recorded accurately. If

**Screenshot Record**

and

**Screenshot Forbidden**

are enabled at the same time, you should focus on verifying whether the record retention is complete, whether the controlled application is indeed unable to obtain valid screenshots, and whether the watermark policy meets expectations.

- When aiming for auditing, it is recommended to simultaneously turn on **Screenshot Recording** to ensure that subsequent review can be combined with the operation screen.
- When targeting protection, you can superimpose **Prohibit screenshots**, **Prohibit specified processes from being screencaptured** and **Watermark Settings** as needed to form hierarchical control.
- If the screenshot records need to be saved for a long time or can be checked offline, it is recommended to plan together with server-side storage and unified retrieval solution.
