# Important Notes Before Installing the Endpoint Agent

Before deploying the Ping32 endpoint agent, be sure to confirm the following items. Improper configuration may cause the endpoint agent installation to fail, or the endpoint agent may be installed but unable to stably connect to the server, resulting in problems such as multiple endpoints going offline simultaneously.

#### **Generate endpoint agent installer**

1\. Enter the Ping32 Management Console and click **Start -> Generate Endpoint Agent** 2. When generating the installation package, you need to specify:

-   **Connection method** (IP/domain name, etc., selected according to the deployment plan)
-   **Server address** (the endpoint agent will connect to the server at this address after installation)

> Note: The endpoint agent installer name contains server connection information. After the installation package is generated, **Do not modify the installation package file name**. It should be distributed directly to the endpoint for installation, otherwise the endpoint agent may not be able to correctly obtain the connection parameters.

#### **Fixed server IP address**

1\. If the endpoint agent connects to the server via **IP address**, it is recommended to configure a **fixed IP** for the server before the server is installed (or as soon as possible after the installation is completed). 2. Fixed IP configuration is preferred:

-   **DHCP static binding on router/switch side** (more stable and centrally managed)
-   Or configure a static IP on the server (need to ensure that the address planning does not conflict)

> Risk description: The endpoint agent relies on the server IP to establish a connection. If the server IP changes subsequently, the endpoint agent will be unable to connect to the server, and **endpoints may go offline simultaneously**.

#### **Exception handling suggestions**

If the endpoint agent is still not displayed in the server endpoint list after the endpoint agent is installed, please check first:

-   Whether the installation package is the correct version and **has not been renamed**
-   Whether the server address/connection method is consistent with the the deployed network environment
-   Whether the network connectivity from the endpoint to the server is normal (IP is reachable, port is accessible)

If the problem cannot be solved, please contact the vendor technical support and provide: server address, endpoint network environment, endpoint agent logs and other information to speed up troubleshooting.
