This article takes

**Navicat**

as an example to explain the backup process of the Ping32 server MySQL database. The MySQL database usually contains key data such as policy configuration and organizational structure. It is recommended to back up the database regularly and keep the backup files properly.

#### **Preparation**

- Install Navicat endpoint agent (it is recommended to choose Navicat Premium or Navicat for MySQL)
- It is recommended to use an account with administrator rights when installing and running Navicat (or ensure that you have network access and local write permissions)

#### **Create MySQL connection**

Before creating a connection, please confirm the following information in advance (used to connect to Ping32's MySQL service):

- **Hostname/IP Address**:
- **Port**:
- **Username**:
- **Password**:

> If the connection information cannot be confirmed or access is restricted, please contact the vendor technical support or project delivery personnel to obtain the correct parameters and authorize according to the principle of least privilege.

#### **Backup database**

After the connection is completed, the database backup file can be generated through Navicat's "Backup" function. In order to avoid exposing back-end details (such as specific library names, object structures, etc.) in the document, only the general operation methods are described here:

- In the connection list on the left side of Navicat, enter the database object that needs to be backed up.
- Right-click and select **Backup -> New Backup**
- Click **Start** in the pop-up backup window and wait for the backup to complete.
- After the backup is completed, the backup file will be generated in the storage location specified by Navicat.
    - If you need to confirm the save location, you can view it in the **Object Information** of the backup object.
