Ping32 supports modifying the endpoint name through **Management Console modification** or **endpoint agent user independent modification** to meet the needs of different scenarios for unified operation and maintenance management and personalized endpoint identification.

- **Ping32 Management Console modification**: The administrator can modify the endpoint name directly in the Management Console
- **Endpoint Agent self-modification**: The endpoint user fills in the information, and the administrator synchronizes it to the endpoint name with one click.

#### Manual modification of Ping32 Management Console (administrator operation)

1. Enter **Endpoint List** on the homepage of the server Management Console.
2. Right-click the target endpoint and select **Modify Endpoint Name**

#### FAQ: Unable to modify endpoint name

If the modification fails, it is usually related to the "Endpoint Parameter Display Rules". You can check by following these steps:

1\. Right-click on a blank space in the **endpoint list** 2. Select **Show** 3. Check if **Use computer name as endpoint name** is checked 4. If it is checked, it is recommended to **uncheck** and try to modify it again.

> Note: After enabling "Use computer name as endpoint parameter", the endpoint name may be overwritten by computer name rules, resulting in Management Console-side modifications not taking effect or displaying abnormally.

#### **Endpoint Agent modification (end user fills in independently)**

This method is suitable for scenarios where the end user needs to fill in information such as name/job number/department by themselves and synchronize it into the endpoint name.

1\. Enter **More Functions** -> **User Information** in the server Management Console. 2. Click **Settings**, select **Select Endpoint** in the lower left corner, and enable **Allow endpoints to submit user information** 3. After enabling, the endpoint agent will pop up a prompt window for filling in information, and the end user can fill in the information according to the prompts. 4. After the information is synchronized to **User Information List**, click **Synchronize** and select **Synchronize Endpoint Name** to synchronize the information filled in by the user to the endpoint name.

#### **"Force endpoint to change user information" option description**

**Uncheck "Force"**:

- After selecting endpoints in batches, the endpoints whose information has been filled in will not pop up again.
- Only fill in the endpoint prompts if **information has not been filled in**

**Check "Force"**:

- Even if the information has been filled in on the endpoint, a pop-up window will pop up again to prompt you to refill it.

#### **Endpoint Agent side performance**

A window for filling in the endpoint name/user information will pop up on the endpoint agent desktop. If the user closes the pop-up window manually:

- **After restarting the endpoint agent computer**, the pop-up window will appear again (to ensure that the information can be filled in).
